Kyrgyzstan Shortens Visa-Free Stay for Citizens of 55 Countries up to 30 days
Kyrgyzstan has introduced new rules regarding visa-free entry for foreign nationals. According to a resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers and effective from December 31, 2025, the permitted period of visa-free stay for citizens of several countries has been reduced.
Under the new regulation, citizens of 55 countries are allowed to stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 30 calendar days within a 60-day period starting from the date of entry. Once this period ends, visitors must either leave the country or arrange a legal extension of their stay in accordance with Kyrgyz migration legislation.
Previously, the rules allowed travelers from these countries to remain in the country for up to 60 days within a 120-day period. Authorities state that the updated policy is intended to improve transparency and strengthen migration management procedures.
Affected Countries
The updated policy applies to 55 states across several regions, including:
- Europe: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, and others.
- The Americas: United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina.
- Asia & Oceania: Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand.
- Middle East: Israel.
Travelers are advised to plan their itineraries carefully to ensure they do not exceed the new 30-day threshold without proper documentation.
