A new cable way has officially been launched in Ala-Archa State Nature Park, one of the most popular mountain destinations near Bishkek.
The cable car line is 1 kilometer long and operates with 16 cabins, each accommodating up to 10 passengers. Two additional cabins are designed for VIP guests and hold 4 people each. The system connects the lower station at 2,166 meters above sea level with the upper station at 2,494 meters, significantly shortening the ascent into the mountains. The infrastructure is designed with a planned service life of around 50 years and has the capacity to transport up to 1,000 people per hour.
The cable car provides faster access to several well-known hiking routes in the park, including trails leading toward the Ak-Sai Waterfall, Ratchek Hut, and the Ala-Archa Glacier with its nearby glacial lake.
The ticket price is 600 KGS (about 7 USD) for adults and 400 KGS for children.
In addition to the cable car, tourism infrastructure in the park continues to develop. Plans include the construction of 20 A-frame houses and a three-story eco-hotel near the upper station, which will provide new accommodation options for visitors exploring the mountains of Ala-Archa.
